Q OPEN PLAN
Removing walls that once
separated the kitchen from the
living room allows family and
friends to congregate in one
open space. “I love having a
fireplace you can see from the
kitchen,” Kelly says.

CASUAL DINING
What once w as a closed-off
den became a dining room. The
new arrangement created an
open sight line that extends
from the kitchen through the
dining room and outside.
0
BLURRING BOUNDARIES
The screen porch off the dining
room provides a smooth
transition to the backyard with
double doors that open wide to
the patio.
Q OUTDOOR LIVING
Kelly outlined the patio with
Austin lim estone that is
stacked to provide additional
seating. Louie extended the
home's speaker system to the
patio, furthering the seam less
feel from indoors to out.
0
SLIVERS OF SPACE
Kelly designed the hallway
to be wide enough to
accommodate a small home
office,
a b o v e le ft.
She defined
the work zone inside the open
space with an L-shape desk of
freestanding drawer units and
kitchen countertops. Along
another wall, she added file
cabinets for more storage. ■
